A lot has been said and written about Sridevi holding not so high opinion on Tollywood. There had been rumors that yesteryear screen diva Sridevi considers Telugu Cinema as purely commercial and hence is evincing less interest to act in Telugu films after she made comeback to movies with a Bollywood film.
Rumours on Sridevi rejecting ‘Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ have been making rounds for some time from now. When upcoming Tamil fantasy drama ‘Puli’s producer Shibu Thameens said Sridevi rejected a recent blockbuster for the sake of ‘Puli’, it’s almost confirmed that the recent blockbuster is ‘Baahubali’.
Sridevi might be more excited with the character she is offered in ‘Puli’ but one has to agree that she missed a great opportunity to make an epic comeback to South Movies. No one can say how important Sridevi’s character is going to be in ‘Puli’, but what she missed as ‘Shivagami’ is her fate.
Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ has got pan-Indian exposure, but coming to Puli, Vijay doesn’t have the reach of pan-Indian audience at present. Anyway, the choice is hers and there seems to be no denial to the fact after ‘Puli’ producer revealed about the rejection.
