Popular tamil film Actress Namitha, who is popular for addressing her fans as machchans, is all set to take the political plunge as he expressed her desire to join the ruling AIADMK headed by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, ahead of the Assembly elections.
A native of Surat, Namitha known for her glam roles as heroines, has written a letter to the AIADMK leadership seeking permission to join the party.
Sources in the Film industry said, she had stated in the letter that, impressed by the leadership qualities of Ms Jayalalithaa, she has taken the decision.
