After 10 Years, Facebook gets a New Logo!

Social networking giant Facebook has made significant changes to it wordmark logo a decade after it was first created. The difference between old & new logo could be noticed clearly when they are overlaid.

Font of Facebook wordmark's new logo is similar to that of the old one, except for letter 'a' which has been completely changed. The size of the logo has been reduced marginally and the letter appear a bit slimmer now. Even the gaps incide the letters such as 'a', 'e', 'b' and 'o' have been more circular in the new logo. 

Facebook's product designer Christophe Tauziet shared the new logo designed by the company's in-house design team on his Twitter page. The company is yet to apply the changes as we still see the old wordmark logo which was designed in 2005 on Facebook's login and logout pages. Intention behind the modifications is to project Facebook as more friendly and approachable. At the same time, Facebook is very particular it just need an 'update' not a 'full redesign'.
