Looks like you have upped the style in S/O Satyamurthy….

In Iddarammayilatho, my character was playful with a chic look. But in S/O Satyamurthy I and Trivikram decided to design my role in a dignified way with more responsibilities according to the story.

Why three heroines in this film?

There are no combination scenes for Samantha, Nithya Menen and Adah Sharma in the film. Three of them are lively with incredible energy. Personally, I learnt one good thing from each of them. Seeing Samantha, I realized that we should take care of our employees well and protect them. Nithya Menen is an extraordinary actress and possesses great talent. She motivated me to take only the good things on my stride and never think about the negative ones as it will send negative energy. Adah Sharma is amazing. She has a lot of potential and we have shown only some part of it. She has a great voice and our entire unit was surprised to see her mimicry skills on the sets.

It seems you are doing a lot of research on girls...

(Laughs) I have been doing that since my childhood.

Talk us about your journey with Trivikram...

Trivikram won't talk much on the sets. He explains everything in detail before the film hits the floors. Coming to S/O Satyamurthy, we discussed about the script for about 6 months. He is not the director who makes changes on the sets. I believed in Trivikram and I know his agenda that he wants to churn out a good movie and hence I waited for him for months.

What's the premise of Satyamurthy?

How a young man solves a problem in his life is what S/O Satyamurthy is all about. I play Viraaj Anand, a wedding planner.

Any similarities between Allu Arjun and Viraaj Anand?

Many! I met Pawan Kalyan after Kushi release and asked him how did you deliver these many hits? He smiled and replied, “What is you is what your film is!” From then, my approach towards films changed and I started knowing about the sensibilities in each role I play.

What excited you to sign S/O Satyamurthy?

Both Trivikram and I evolved as persons after Julayi. He proved his class with Attarintiki Daredi and he showed a lot of maturity while making S/O Satyamurthy. The film has wonderful storyline and depicts the values and emotions of a family in an entertaining way.

Does fatherhood changed your perception towards films?

Yes, it certainly showed impact on my decisions. It's quite common for people to presume like that, but above all, everyone who watches the film will feel it's their own story. That is the magic of S/O Satyamurthy.

Are you in number game?

I respect every actor in the industry. Whether people accept it or not, everyone is unique in their own way. If a film is a hit, which means, it connected well with the audience, you might not agree with me, but that's what the reality is!

How is it working with Upendra?

He is a nice human being. Kannada stars like Upendra or Puneeth Rajkumar or Shiva Rajkumar are very humble and down to earth persons. It always feels to work with such persons.

Is it true that the lip lock was chopped from the film?

There is no truth in it. I personally don't like doing lip lock scenes. I want my film to be patronized by all sections of the audience. Hence, I try not to attempt such scenes.

What did you learn with this film?

I learnt how to gain weight with this film. (Laughs) I'm not insecure anymore. I toned down my styling and preferred to be simple in the film. Except for songs, you won't see me sporting multi-layered attire in this film.

What are the highlights of S/O Satyamurthy?

Brahmanandam, Ali and MS Narayana's comedy scenes came out really well. My combination with Devi Sri Prasad is highly successful and coming to this film's audio you have one good melody (Seethakalam) and one peppy mass number (Super machi) like my previous films.

Do you keep a close tab on collections?

Yes, of course. I would be lying if I say no to you! We will spend huge chunk of money on a film and it's no big deal to track the collections. If we won't do that, how would an actor know that his film is commercially viable?

Any Bollywood plans?

Prabhu Deva approached me for ABCD 2, but I politely declined his offer. I want to act in a Malayalam movie and hoping to get one good story soon.

Is S/O Satyamurthy releasing in Malayalam?

Yes, two weeks after the Telugu release.

Is Ayaan playing a cameo?

No, that is a rumour. He is happily playing at home and recently celebrated his first birthday in Singapore with myself and Sneha.

Dasari took no name of Chiranjeevi at S/O Satyamurthy audio launch. It triggered a controversy...

Sometimes we forget to say something. It happens with everyone. Neither he did say anything bad about Chiranjeevi nor did he talk about him. But, he should take Chiranjeevi, the living legend of Tollywood's name at the event. As a result, I gave my answer with my speech at Rudhramadevi audio launch at Warangal.
