Actor Nithiin will be back on the silver screen this Thursday with his long-delayed venture ‘Courier Boy Kalyan’. The film has been languishing in the labs for awhile but the actor is happy that he is shedding his star image with the film. “The concept of the film is very unique.
It’s for the first time I’m playing a role of this kind. It’s a point which transpired in Mumbai recently. And I am pretty sure that I will gain the respect of audience ,” he insisted and added that the pre-interval and the post interval portions will stand out. “It will open avenues for new wave cinema.”
When quizzed on accepting a role, which is poles apart from image that he carries, he said, “Initially when I heard the story, I was confident that I will pull off the role. However, as the film went into its final leg of production, I was a little scared. But the final product came out the way we envisioned.”
Nithiin is paired with Yami Gautam in the film and he is happy with what she brought to the table. “She is very hard working and did a good job going about her role. I’ve came across reports that heroines of my last two films didn’t make any impact but Yami will surely score brownie points (with the film),” Nithiin shared.
The actor is optimistic that the film’s delay will work in his favour . “As I told you earlier the movie discusses a new point. The point was not that known to the masses three years back. But in the recent times because of the media coverage the concept was popularised and now people are aware about what kind of a film we’ve made.
Hence, I strongly believe that they will like the movie even more. Therefore I can say we have gained from the delay,” he elucidated. A die-hard fan of Pawan Kalyan, Nithiin said that it was not intentional on his part to name the film as ‘Courier Boy Kalyan’. “Director Premsai had two titles in his mind. One was ‘Courier Boy Karthik’ and other was the current title.
So he asked me, which is better. I said both are good but since my last character was named as Karthik, we had no option but to prefer the name Kalyan.” The film is Premsai’s first film as a director. When asked whether he was not skeptical giving his nod to him, he said, “He never made me feel that he is debuting with the film.
Right from discussing the story and to filming it, he was in complete command. After the movie opens, he will be labeled as a good director.” The actor is also gung-ho about his production venture ‘Akhil’. It marks the debut of superstar Nagarjuna’s second son Akhil as a hero.
When asked about his experience of producing the big-ticket starrer , he stated, “Being a producer is very hectic. One has to ensure that everyone is happy, etc. After this I will take a break of a year or two and if Akhil is ready I’ll produce another film with him.”
He also rubbished reports that the film has gone over-budget. “Whatever I spent I spent on the story as it is set on a large canvas, requiring us to shoot it in Africa, Europe and Bangkok.” Didn’t he felt risky investing so much on a debutant? “No. I believed in the story, Akhil’s pull and VV Vinayak’s capabilities,” he responded.
On being quizzed will he be producing any movie with idol Pawan Kalyan, he replied, “When that happens I will leave everything and concentrate on that.” Set to join the sets of Trivikram’s ‘A… Aa’ shortly, Nithiin, on a concluding note, said that he will be joining forces with Gautham Menon next. “It will be a Telugu-Tamil bilingual and will go on floors next January.”
