S. S. Rajamouli: No creative change in BAHUBALI since it started

After films like MAGADHEE, EEGA (MAKKHI), S. S. Rajamouli is all set with the much-anticipated BAHUBALI.
Ask the director why the film is called BAHUBALI and he says, “BAHUBALI is the name of the principal character. It means a strong armed person. ‘Bahu' means armed and ‘Bali' means strength.”

The filmmaker maintains that even though BAHUBALI is the making since a long time, there are no changes in the film's story.

“Story wise there are no changes. It was a big story but surprisingly it got done in three months or so. The pre-production took a year to get that whole story into a proper format. All the pre-visualisations and all the planning took a year. After that we started executing the story. Creatively there's no change in the film since it started. Maybe there are one or two small changes. But principally it's the same thing.'

He goes on to add, 'Technologically, the thumb rule is that every six months the softwares would change. So we were incorporating those changes in our post-production when and where it was required. If a new technology has come in, it can't be taken to your whole system because it's built into a specific format.

You can incorporate it only when it gels with the rest of the system. But basically all that is not my job. My job is to make sure the emotions are conveyed the way they are supposed to. It's the job of the visual effects and the technical guys. The team we have is top-notch. It's the best in the country.”

Starring Prabhas Raju, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles, BAHUBALI is all set to release on 10th July.
