Director Srikanth Addala had first approached Rakul Preet Singh for the main heroine role. She could not adjust her dates as she has given all her call sheets to Ram Charan - Srinu Vaitla film and NTR - Sukumar movie. Then they approached Samantha who readily gave the required dates.
