Gopala Gopala Movie Review Story:

Gopala Rao (Venkatesh) is a non-believer who earns a living by exploiting the faiths of the people, selling idols of gods. One day, in whole vicinity, his shop is the only one wrecked in a natural calamity. He approaches the insurance company and they refuse to honor his claim as the incident was an act of God. A furious Gopala Rao takes up a legal battle and sues the God to recover the damage. He argues the case on his own against the god-men played by Mithun Chakraborthy, Posani Krishna Murali and god-women Deeksha Panth. The rest is all about how he adds weight to his argument of God being liable for the damage.

Gopala Gopala Movie Review Analysis:

Gopala Gopala is the remake of Oh My God directed by Umesh Shukla. Venkatesh fits into the bill perfectly as Gopala Rao. His character utters some amazing thought provoking dialogues and his counters with logical questions receive applauses from the audience. Although Venkatesh’s role has substance, the plot of the film deviates from the original point and shifts to the topic of how these self-proclaimed god-men are conning the people.

The movie is clichéd and the climax episode could have been handled well with appropriate justification. The screenplay is contrived and sometimes evokes boredom to the audience. The icing on the cake is the performance and the screen presence of Pawan Kalyan. As and soon he entered the scene, he elevated it to an altogether different level with his meaningful dialogues and attractive expressions. The second half lacks entertainment and the film moved away from the theme of proving the existence of the God.

Gopala Gopala Movie Review Performances:

Venkatesh gave praiseworthy performance as Gopala Rao. He acted effortlessly and once again proved that he can portray any role with élan.  Pawan Kalyan is spectacular and carried the movie on his shoulders as and soon he was introduced. He looked calm, subtle, elegant and pleasant in the role of modern Krishna and performed naturally. It need not be a daunting task for Pawan Kalyan who is being treated as a demi god by hundreds of thousands of fans to play the central character of modern Krishna. His aura and screen presence has been as enduring as Chiranjeevi was in 90s.

Mithun Chakraborthy does well as god-men and his mannerisms evoked laughter. Posani Krishna Murali is over the top as a spiritual guru but is apt for the role. Deeksha Panth has very little to do. Shriya Saran did justice to her limited role. Aasish Vidhyardhi is good as the lawyer. Vennela Kishore, Krishnudu and Madhu Shalini did their bit well.

Gopala Gopala Movie Review Technicalities:

Dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra are witty and catchy. Anup Ruben’s music is a big plus, but his background score is below par. Cinematography by Jayanan Vincent is nice. Editing by Gautham Raju could have been crisp. The special effects are tawdry. Last but not the least, Kishore Pardasani’s direction is good in parts and he could have did better home work for a film that boasts of stars like Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh. He failed to convey the emotion in a convincing way.
