When Baahubali The Beginning was released last year, the film's 150 crore budget was the talking point in the media. Baahubali was one of the most expensive films ever made in India. The film released and tasted a historic box-office success and the makers are now busy with the film's second part, The Conclusion.
About 40% of Baahubali 2 has been shot already and there were reports that the film's second part will be wrapped up with a budget of 100 crores. However, in his recent interview after the national awards, Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda revealed that the overall films budget has now been increased to 300-350 crores.
Shobu also said that expenditure on the film's gigantic sets, VFX and the production costs have gone up drastically. At this juncture, one wonders what the Baahubali team is up to with the budget. Are they still into an extensive planning to make the film grander in scale and magnitude or is it just that the team is striving for ultimate perfection with every detail of making.
Whatever it may be, all questions and doubts will be clarified during the film's release in April 2017.
