After conquering Tollywood box-office, Mahesh Babu's latest blockbuster Srimanthudu is now ruling the ticket counters in the God's own country, Kerala. After grabbing the film's Tamil version Selvandhan's entire Kerala rights for a modest amount of 12 lakhs, leading Kerala distribution house Sopanam Films released it in close to 45 theaters on the eve of Independence Day.
As per the latest trade reports from the Malabar land, Selvandhan has grossed double the investments and all the local buyers and exhibitors are have witnessed a tremendous 200% return on investment all in just a week's time. The film is still running successfully in several screens across Kerala.
Selvandhan has also been adjudged a huge hit in Tamil Nadu, as the film has collected nearly 1.26 crores until now. With this, Mahesh has successfully consolidated his craze among the Malayali and Tamil audiences. Mahesh's previous Malayalam release was 1 Nenokkadine, which ran successfully. With Brahmotsavam's straight Tamil version, Mahesh is all set to rule the hearts of his fans down south.
