There is an old-time Urdu saying in Hyderabad: “Aakhir Sheik Abdullah kya bolta hai?” (After all, what does this man wants to convey?).
This was the first impression media got after started listening to the talk of Power Star-turned-politician Pavan Kalyan at the press conference which he addressed on Monday after a long time. Pavan came with a bunch of papers and started addressing the media looking into those papers. And within no time, media persons have realized that there is no coherence among the sentences that he was speaking.
First, he praised Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for appointing an Andhra architect Anand Sai for the Yadagirigutta project and said KCR had taken initiative in bringing unity among Andhra and Telangana people. In the same breath, he found fault with KCR and Harish Rao for describing the TDP as “Andhra parties” and attacking “Andhrollu.” (Andhra people).
And media persons had to just laugh when he said TDP was not the sole representative of Andhra people. It is just a Kamma party, but not that of SCs, STs, BCs and minorities, he said. Within a minute, Pavan Kalyan defended KCR on Section 8 of AP Reorganisation Act.
He said there is no need for Section 8 in Hyderabad, since it was the capital of Telangana. Again, he attacked KCR for insulting Andhra people and creating tensions between the two States. “If the same situation continues, there will be civil war in the State and there will be need for Section 8,” he said.
And Jana Sena Party described Andhra MPs as duds without any self-respect. “When KCR makes derogatory comments against them, not a single Seemandhra MP speaks out. The problem is not with KCR, but with our MPs,” he said. Watch out for more about Pavanism…
