Music Director demands Rs 50 lakhs from Producer

Music Director RP Patnaik lodged a complaint against the Producer of TV Serial 'Atho Athamma Kuthuro' aired on Gemini TV accusing him of using his tunes sans seeking any permission from him. He also demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh.

Holding a press meet at Hyderabad Today, RP Patnaik complained that tunes composed by Music Directors like him were used in a lot of TV Serials and none of them seek prior permission for doing so. He claimed to be shocked to comes across one of his tunes in a serial Today. What's the worst could happen is the fact RP composed it for a film which is yet to hit the screens.

RP Patnaik alleges the trend of using film tunes for serials has been continuing for years. He wishes his colleagues in the Film Industry will join the fight against the TV Industry.
