Expectations are riding high on Baahubali with all the buzz surrounding it. Stakes are also as high as the immense craze. The first part of the movie touted to be expensive ever with budget over Rs 250 crores is releasing in more than 4,000 screens worldwide on July 10.
The makers have already made tremendous pre-release business having sold theatrical and satellite rights all over in four languages of Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. However, distributers and the exhibitors who have paid a bomb to acquire rights have to recover it post release. Trade pundits estimate that it has to make atleast 125 crores to break even.
Everyone has been confident that Baahubali will set cash registers ringing as it has already have started its storm at the ticket windows all over. It is expected to rake in Rs 15 – 20 crores on day 1 of its release only in Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The film is expected to do good business in Karnataka, thanks to revision in ticket prices. Another 5 crores in rest of India and about 1 million dollars overseas, predict trade analysts. Overall, industry folks forecast says, Baahubali could reach Rs 65 crores mark in its first week. If it does so, it will set an impeccable record.
