Many actors like Mahesh Babu, Raviteja and even Jr NTR are rumoured to be approached by director Gunasekhar to play Gona Ganna Reddy role but finally Allu Arjun has jumped into it. Inside the flick, Rana plays Rudramadevi's husband Chalukya Veerabhadra and after requesting many actors to do that role Guna found this muscleman. Even Nitya Menon's role of Mummidamma is crucial and short, and she was not the first pick. But why does these three got connected to this film.
"I respect women and hence took role", said Bunny sometime back, while Rana says, "I took this role because it is history. You can't afford to lose being part of historical movies that are not going to be made regularly". Nitya Menon too adds that she is not worried about the small role she is playing but lays stress on delivering riveting performance in a crucial role. These guys have looked "Rudramadevi" like anything but a marvellous tribute to history.
